Not to Contradict Myself

Now this may seem funny after one of my last post but relaxation is important. After a tough week in which life was packed to the brim with crazy, it's very important to take a break and rest back up so that you're ready to fight the good fight for the coming week. I've heard it said "Where time is sort sin is present." In other words if you just go, go, go constantly eventually you'll get so run down that the Devil will have an easy go at you. So in this sense having some down time is a very beneficial thing. This is not to contradict my former post about laziness. Work hard but play hard too relaxation isn't necessarily doing nothing sometimes it means reading a classic novel or possibly hoping in the car and going camping for the weekend. I believe relaxation comes in the escape from the monotony of life.

Do Something.

Everyday I see laziness not just in the people I watch but, in myself as well. It's an epidemic. We sit around and ask ourselves why there is so much obesity in
here in America. Here's the answer: LAZINESS. That shouldn't be much of a surprise. Think about everything we invent it makes life easier. Thus in turn makes us lazier. Think about it TV remotes make it so we don't need to get up to change the channel. We have e-mail to remove the hassle of writing a letter, stuffing an envelope and dropping it in the mailbox. I don't mean to bash those things e-mail has saved my life more than once. The thing is we are starting to forget the benefits of actually doing things. We have kids these days that just sit inside veg-out all day. We wonder why our lives are amounting to next to nothing.

Sure doing stuff is hard. Trust me know how nice it seems to be lazy and some rest is always nice every once in awhile. Get out, do something because you're life will start opening up. You'll find that doing stuff becomes easier. Go hiking or maybe ride your bike check this video out of look what happens when he did something other than being lazy. You'll discover that life has all sorts of great things in it. Fight the epidemic and get out there and do something.

Chase Life.

Chase life. This is my the banner currently on my phone. What I mean by this pursue the good things in life. Stay up late at night at a friends house when you know you need to go home. Pursue your dreams and passion. I promise you won't regret what you learn in doing this. I look at people I know and they are all pursuing their dreams. One is in South Africa witnessing to the native people there. Another, is off to the jungles of Peru. Some of my best friends are off to Mexico to pursue their call from God to witness to the people there. And yet another, is living in New Zealand helping lead a church there. I look at these stories and I look at my life and I'm say, "What am I doing?" I'm going to school and being a normal guy. Is this what God has in store for me I don't know.

Something is coming in my life, something big. God is preparing my heart to except this and go when he calls I pray that when he calls I'll recognize His call. I firmly believe that when we chase life that we will be the most exhilarated and impassioned about life. So chase life. Experience it. Follow your dreams. Live you passions. As cliché as it is, laugh until you cry. Dance in the rain. Love deep. Do something wrong for you.  Sing at the top of your longs. Go a whole day without speaking. Do something absolutely crazy. Explore nature. Fight for the little guy. Life holds all sorts of amazing things and it's running. The only way to catch it is to... Chase life.

First Thoughts.

My first post here... Not sure what to say but life is a beautiful thing. Maybe I should post a bit about myself. I'm a 19 year old college guy. I believe that there is a God of the universe and he sent his son to atone for our wretchedness. I'm not just a fanatic I'm a normal guy I love to wakeboard and play basketball. I love sports. I love life not always but usually. I'm currently attending George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon. It's a small college town without much to do but I survive.  I enjoy so many things. I enjoy reading, backpacking, driving, boating, swimming. I think I would die without music. Anything from hip-hop to country. I love music! That's enough about me off to see a friend. More soon!
